Free Samples....Are they really worth it?

I asked the very same question so many times, then of course, I did not want to deal with all the spam mail that may come from it. This was until  I started reading all the blogs out there about saving money. However, Money Saving Mom sums it up better than I ever could HERE ! Please check out her blog for information on how to get the best freebies. This is a picture of my "Samples" box. It was great for our trip to Ohio to not have to pack full size bottles for just a few days, and I always have a variety to choose from. We have also started a baby box!

Mid-Week Madness

Well after being on vacation and all that is going on with my dad, I was finally able to arrange a day of shopping and savings! I was glad that my husband went along to laugh on our way out the doors! We hit 5 stores and spent less than $65! I was so excited with the results of this day...we would normally spend $65 at one store just buying what we need in a whim! I am so thankful that I can be at home now and find other ways to be a frugal one income family! Here are the pictures....then see summary and totals below! Enjoy!

Picture 1- CVS Total Spent $1.39 out of pocket, $8 ECB, received $5 ECB....got paid to shop&saved $21.97
Picture 2-Publix Total Spent $4.49, Saved $31.88
Picture 3-Bi-Lo Total Spent $20.86, Saved $46.76
Picture 4-Wal-Mart Total Spent $10.55, Saved $8.74
Pictures 5 & 6-Ingles Total Spent $24.21, Saved $32.13

That is total spent of $61.50 for a retail total of $210.98...NOT BAD!! I have finally got the hang of this!
